Before the curtain rises on Dream Nights!, here's your guide to the colourful cast of characters you'll meet in this magical rock musical inspired by Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream.
The Lovers
At the heart of the story are four young lovers whose tangled relationships set events in motion.
Hermia and Lysander are in love, but obstacles stand in the way of their happiness. Demetrius is determined to win Hermia's heart, while Helena longs for Demetrius to notice her. As magic and mischief take hold, feelings become confused and loyalties are put to the test.
The Royals
Theseus and Hippolyta are preparing for their wedding celebrations, providing the backdrop for the drama unfolding around them. While they may seem removed from the chaos of the enchanted woods, their forthcoming marriage brings many of the characters together for the final festivities.
The Fairies
Deep within the woods, the fairy kingdom is ruled by Oberon and Titania. Unfortunately, the royal couple are far from seeing eye to eye.
With the mischievous Puck carrying out Oberon's instructions, a little fairy magic quickly leads to a great deal of confusion. Good intentions, misunderstandings and unexpected consequences all play their part in the adventures that follow.
The Dream Girls
Supporting Titania are the Dream Girls, whose beautiful harmonies bring an extra touch of magic and enchantment to the woodland world.
The Mechanicals
No comedy would be complete without the Mechanicals.
This enthusiastic group of amateur actors are determined to perform a play at the wedding celebrations. While talent may not be their greatest strength, they make up for it with confidence, ambition and a complete lack of self-awareness. Their efforts provide some of the show's funniest moments.
A Night of Romance, Magic and Laughter
As the worlds of lovers, fairies and actors collide, Dream Nights! becomes a whirlwind of mistaken identities, magical mishaps and comic chaos.
Will true love find a way? Will the Mechanicals be ready for their big performance? And can fairy magic ever really be controlled?
There's only one way to find out.
